Wells Fargo Website Not Working

Many users of Wells Fargo's banking website have not been able to either load the website or login to perform any banking activity or view data for the last few hours.

Users can try accessing their Wells Fargo account via an alternate website: www.wf.com
This alternate site seems to have the links needed to log in to Wells Fargo banking.

When using a PC running Internet Explorer, if the site starts to spin and doesn't respond, hit Escape or stop (the X to the right of the URL area) and then hit F5 (or the clockwise arrow in the URL area). Trying this, the site may appear as normal.

If you are still having trouble accessing their website at all, try clearing your cache and cookies using the following instructions (I have tried and succeeded loading their website at various times today):

For Mozilla Firefox browsers, here is how to clear your cache and cookies:
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you can clear Firefox's cache completely this way:
Go to Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site try one of the two methods below (both have the same effect):

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies" > Remove all Cookies OR
  • Tools Menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Hopefully, that helps the connection issue.

In Internet Explorer, here's how to clear your cache and remove your cookies:

1) From your Internet Explorer browser window, Select Internet Options from the Tools drop-down menu.

2) Go to the Browsing History section, and click on Delete; check Temporary Files, Cookies and History, while leaving all other boxes blank. Be sure to uncheck the Preserve Favorites Website Data box as well. Then select Delete.

3) Close out of your Internet Explorer browser and re-open. This may fix the problem. If not, see below...

Even if you delete all Cookies via your Internet Browser, it’s possible that not all of your cookies will actually be deleted. To manually remove all of the Wells Fargo cookies, follow this procedure:

1) Open Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.

2) In the Internet Options pop-up window select the General tab, and go to the Browsing History section, click Settings, and then click on View Files.

3) Scroll down in the list and find the wellsfargo.com cookie file (this will look something like: "cookie:YourUsername@www.wellsfargo.com" (you can also search this directory for any Wells Fargo file using the windows search tool).

4) Next, delete the cookie files. Delete any cookie file that contains “wellsfargo”. This may take a bit of time, depending on the length of your cookie file list.

5) After deleting the wellsfargo.com cookies, close your browser. Reopen, and go to the website that you were having trouble with. If this worked, you should now see the webpage loading properly.

Can't Access a Website? Here's a Free Troubleshooting Guide

If you are having trouble accessing a certain website, it may not be the website's fault. Sometimes, subtle changes to your web browser can be the culprit.

If you have tried to get a website to load, but have been unsuccessful, please see the list of tips below that may help you regain access.

Tip #1: Clear Your Cache & Cookies

To manually remove all of the related website cookies, follow this procedure:

1) Open Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.

2) In the Internet Options pop-up window select the General tab, and go to the Browsing History section, click Settings, and then click on View Files.

3) Scroll down in the list and find the website cookie file (this will generally look something like: "cookie:YourUsername@www.(website name).com" (you can also search this directory for any related website file using the windows search tool).

4) Next, delete the cookie files. Delete any cookie file that contains the url for the website that you're trying to access. This may take a bit of time, depending on the length of your cookie file list.

5) After deleting the appropriate cookies, close your browser. Reopen, and go to the website that you were having trouble with. If this worked, you should now see the webpage loading properly.

Tip #2: Reset Your Browser Settings to Default

1) From your Internet Explorer browser window, Select Internet Options from the Tools drop-down menu.

2) Click on the Advanced tab, and click on the Reset button, under Reset Internet Explorer Settings. A pop-up window will come up. Do not check the Delete Personal Settings Box. Click on the Reset Button.

3) After Internet Explorer has finished restoring your browser settings to default, close your browser, and re-open it. Now, try re-accessing the website that you could not previously access.

Note: Older versions of Internet Explorer may have slightly different procedures for restoring your default browser settings.

Tip #3: Disable Your Firewall

You may have active firewall or security software running which is keeping you from accessing the website in question.

Generally, you can examine your Windows taskbar (this is usually found at the bottom of your desktop window), and locate the icon for your firewall program.

Depending on which firewall software you have installed, this could be Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, Windows Firewall, or other software.

Right-click on the firewall program icon, and see if there is an option to Disable or Shut Down the firewall.

Now, try accessing the problem website again to see if you have access. Don't forget to turn the firewall back on after you gain access to the website.

Tip #4: Run the Windows Update Utility Program

Running the Windows update can fix security issues on your computer. You can find the latest Windows Update here:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Simply follow the instructions on Microsoft's website and update your version of Windows. When you are finished, close out of all programs, restart your computer, and try accessing the problem website again.

BB&T Website Not Working

Many users of BB&T's banking website have not been able to either load the website or login to perform any banking activity or view data. This issue has been going on for much of March, but has been more prevalent in the last 24 hours.

Users can try accessing their BB&T account via a mobile device. The mobile access seems to be working much better than the computer website.

If you are having trouble accessing their website at all, try clearing your cache and cookies using the following instructions (I have tried and succeeded loading their website at various times today):

For Mozilla Firefox browsers, here is how to clear your cache and cookies:
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

1) From your Internet Explorer browser window, Select Internet Options from the Tools drop-down menu.

2) Go to the Browsing History section, and click on Delete; check Temporary Files, Cookies and History, while leaving all other boxes blank. Be sure to uncheck the Preserve Favorites Website Data box as well. Then select Delete.

3) Close out of your Internet Explorer browser and re-open. This may fix the problem. If not, see below...

Even if you delete all Cookies via your Internet Browser, it’s possible that not all of your cookies will actually be deleted. To manually remove all of the bbt.com cookies, follow this procedure:

1) Open Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.

2) In the Internet Options pop-up window select the General tab, and go to the Browsing History section, click Settings, and then click on View Files.

Chase.com Website Not Working

Many Chase Bank online customers have not been able to either load the chase.com homepage or log into their accounts. This has been an issue going back to the beginning of March, but it has been more frequently reported in the past few days. It's widely thought that chase.com was hacked, and that their technicians have been trying to restore access for those not able to access the website. However, some people have reported success logging in.
I have personally been able to load their website(s) with no problem at various times today.

Here are a couple of tips to help you regain access to the chase.com website:

1) Try accessing chase.com through an IPad or other mobile app, rather than from a PC. The success rate among mobile users seems to be much better than that for computer users.

2) If you have received an email from Chase Bank at some point, look to see if there is a link in the email. Some people reported that they could access Chase's website through those links.

3) Make sure to clear your cache & cookies. You should do this as a first response anytime you are unable to access a website that others can access.

Here are instructions:

A lot of Playstation 3 owners are currently having trouble viewing Netflix on their PS3 consoles.

The following information is from Netflix.com:

If you should encounter an error message that reads: "Cannot connect to Netflix. nw-4-7", it's more than likely that there is a DNS configuration issue keeping you from accessing Netflix. To resolve this issue, follow the steps listed below.

  1. From the PS3 main menu, go to Settings.
  2. Choose Network Settings.
  3. Choose Internet Connection Settings.

  6. Select either Wired Connection or Wireless, depending on your network type.
    • If Wireless, execute the following steps:
      • Select Manual
      • Press to the right three times. Your previously saved SSID, Security Type, and Password should be automatically input for you.
    • If you use a Wired connection, choose Auto-Detect for Operation mode.
  7. Choose Automatic for IP Address Setting
  8. Choose Do Not Set for DHCP host name
  9. Now, choose Automatic for DNS Setting
  10. Tap right on the analog stick until "Press the X button to save settings" is displayed onscreen.
  11. Press the X button

MSN.com Not Working In Internet Explorer

Since the beginning of March, many internet users have been unable to successfully load the MSN.com homepage into their browsers. Although many of the reported issues have come from Internet Explorer users, the problem extends to Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and other browser types.

Please note, that this appears to be an issue with the code on the MSN.com landing page, and does not necessarily mean that anything is wrong with your computer.

There are a few different things that a user can try to either fix the problem or work around it.

The first thing to do to get MSN.com working correctly again is to go into your Internet Browser menu, and delete the History, Cookies and Temporary Files. Here is the procedure that you'll want to follow:

1) From your Internet Explorer browser window, Select Internet Options from the Tools drop-down menu.

2) Go to the Browsing History section, and click on Delete; check Temporary Files, Cookies and History, while leaving all other boxes blank. Be sure to uncheck the Preserve Favorites Website Data box as well. Then select Delete.

3) Close out of your Internet Explorer browser and re-open. This may fix the problem. If not, see below...

Even if you delete all Cookies via your Internet Browser, it’s possible that not all of your cookies will actually be deleted. To manually remove all of the msn cookies, follow this procedure:

1) Open Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.

2) In the Internet Options pop-up window select the General tab, and go to the Browsing History section, click Settings, and then click on View Files.

3) Scroll down in the list and find the msn.com cookie file (this will look something like: "cookie:YourUsername@www.msn.com" (you can also search this directory for any msn file using the windows search tool).

4) Next, delete the cookie files. Delete any cookie file that contains “msn.” This may take a bit of time, depending on the length of your cookie file list.

5) After deleting the msn.com cookies, close your browser. Reopen, and go to www.msn.com. If this worked, you should now see the real msn.com homepage loading properly.

If neither of these options works, there is a workaround solution:
A workaround solution is to delete MSN.com as your homepage and set your homepage to the following: http://dell.msn.com/

This should display exactly the same content and functionality as the MSN homepage. If MSN ever fixes this issue, you can just set your homepage back to the http://www.msn.com address.

Other tips: In Windows, you can refresh your browser window at any time by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the F5 key at the top of your keyboard.
